Seyi Makinde, Oyo State Gov Elect Thank You Address

The Oyo State Governor-Elect, Mr Seyi Makinde, tok say im owe his victory to di people who stand  up against wetin he describe as di fleecing of di state treasury in collusion wit external forces.

 

He, however, hint say im administration no go  hammer ontop di alleged mismanagement, but go rather focus on policies dat would move the state forward.

 

He tok dis one on Monday while im dey deliver a “Thank You Address” for im house in Ikolaba, Ibadan.

 

He tok say, “In your valour, you stand up against wetin you see to be di mismanagement of your common patrimony brought about by collusion forces outside our shores to fleece our treasury, among other obvious misdemeanours.

 

“Well, reason no dey to dey cry over spilled milk and na for us to move forward together, and for me to fulfil my campaign promises to you for di clear understanding say we will go take realistic decisions together…I no go disappoint you.”

 

Makinde also thank former governor of di state, Alhaji Rashidi Ladoja, for leading di coalition of some governorship candidates who step down for him.

 

He likened di political movement wey lead to his victory to the Agbekoya struggle of 1968, noting say while the struggle na a revolt against high taxation, especially by farmers, the recent one show people’s “dogged determination in spite of spirited efforts to frustrate you.”

 

“You also make am easy for us by voting in the majority of our legislators which mean say we can push through, without much ado, people-oriented policies particularly in critical sectors of education, health and job creation,” Makinde added.

 

Im condemn di killings recorded during di polls, including that of a federal legislator, Olatoye Temitope aka Sugar, who dem shoot for head and assured the families of the deceased say dem no go die in vain.
